38106 Joint Agency Collaborative

The 38106 Joint Agency Collaborative is the result of The Influence1 Foundation’s efforts in finding solutions for homeowners in the 38106 zip code area expressing discontent with current City of Memphis/Shelby County services, through the development of relationships and bonds between community residents and City of Memphis/Shelby County service professionals such as the Memphis Police Department, Memphis (City) Code Enforcement, Shelby County Code Enforcement, and the Shelby County Sheriff Department.

The purpose of the 38106 Joint Agency Collaborative is to organize a community-policing atmosphere, to address crime generators and code infractions in various neighborhoods. Its primary objectives consist of:

  • Increasing the responsiveness of the City of Memphis/Shelby County services to residents’ concerns.
  • Cooperating with all neighborhood groups to improve the physical and economic landscape of the 38106 zip code – for example, identify areas of concern and involve needed service professionals to clean up a site, correct residential and commercial code violations, and help rehabilitate properties.

The 38106 Joint Agency Collaborative meets on the 4th Thursday of each month (except November and December) for one hour at the Pine Hill Community Center, allowing community members and stakeholders to meet in a town hall-style setting and begin a community-policing relationship for reporting illicit as well as positive activity in their area.
